“The cross is the school of love.” With these words, St. Maximilian Kolbe reminds us of the grace suffering, death, and resurrection won for man. Even in the beautiful Easter Season we have entered, daily suffering reminds us that only the cross leads to Easter joy. This year, the Class of 2022 is raising $5,000 to create and care for the landscaping surrounding the 4th Station of the Cross–a beautiful tradition of prayer that surrounds our Portiuncula in cast facades depicting the scenes of Christ’s passion.
Why the 4th Station? As our time comes quickly to close at Franciscan, is there a better way to honor our alma mater than to venerate the Mother of God? Leaving a simple remembrance of all Franciscan and Our Lady has done for us, the Class of 2022 embarks with joy but remembers where we came from.
